Composition of the preparation.

Dekasan - fungicidal, antifungal, virusicidal and antimicrobial. The mechanism of action of Dekasan is based on its ability to disrupt the permeability of the cell membrane (CM) of the target, by combining with lipid structures in the region of their phosphatide groups. As a result of changes in CM permeability, homeostasis within cells is disrupted, and cell lysis occurs. The selectivity of Dekasan's action is manifested in the inability to concentrate on the CM of human cells.

The bactericidal action of Dexasan on most strains of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms was studied and confirmed. Among them are staphylococci, streptococci, causative agents of diphtheria, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and others. The fungicidal action of Dexasan is manifested in relation to epidermophytes, trichophytes, yeast-like fungi, erythrasma, yeast, some mold-like fungi (penicillas, aspergilla). Antiprotozoal efficacy Dekasan shows against lamblia and trichomonads. There are no stable viruses to action of the drug. The bacteriostatic effect of Dexasan is due to the same mechanism of action and can be considered as the first stage of bactericidal manifestation.

During the treatment, Dekasan increases the sensitivity of microorganisms to antibiotics, and shows its activity towards strains that have been resistant to the treatment. Undamaged mucous membranes and skin interfere with the absorption of the drug. In the blood of significant concentrations of Dekasan was not detected.
