In this article, you can read the instructions for using the drug Drustop. There are reviews of visitors to the site - consumers of this medication, as well as opinions of doctors specialists on the use of the chondroprotector Drastop in their practice. Analogues of Drustop in the presence of existing structural analogues. Use for the treatment of arthrosis, osteochondrosis of the spine in adults, children, as well as during pregnancy and lactation. Composition of the preparation.

Drustop - A drug that affects the phosphorus-calcium metabolism in the cartilaginous tissue is a high molecular weight mucopolysaccharide. Slows the resorption of bone tissue and reduces calcium loss, accelerates the recovery of bone tissue, inhibits the process of degeneration of cartilaginous tissue. Prevents the compression of connective tissue and plays the role of a kind of lubrication of articular surfaces. With external application slows the progression of osteoarthritis. Normalizes metabolism in hyaline tissue. Stimulates the regeneration of articular cartilage.

When using the drug, soreness decreases and mobility of affected joints improves, while the therapeutic effect persists for a long time after the end of the course of therapy.

In the treatment of degenerative joint changes accompanied by a secondary synovitis, the effect is observed after 2-3 weeks from the start of the course.

Having structural similarity with heparin, it can potentially prevent the formation of fibrin clots in the synovial and subchondral microcirculatory bed.

Composition

Chondroitin sodium sulfate + excipients.

Pharmacokinetics

After intramuscular injection of chondroitin, sodium sulfate is readily absorbed. Already 30 minutes after the injection, it is found in the blood in significant concentrations. Chondroitin sodium sulfate accumulates mainly in the cartilaginous tissue that forms the joints. Synovial membrane is not an obstacle to penetration of the drug into the joint cavity. 15 minutes after IM injection of chondroitin, sodium sulfate is found in the synovial fluid, then penetrates into the articular cartilage, where its maximum concentration is reached after 48 hours.

Indications

Diseases of the joints and spine of a degenerative nature, such as:

  • intervertebral osteochondrosis and osteoarthrosis;
  • osteoarthritis (arthrosis) of peripheral joints.

Forms of release

Solution for intramuscular injection 100 mg in 1 ml (2 ml - 200 mg in 1 ampoule) (injections in ampoules for injection).

Other dosage forms, be it tablets, capsules, ointment or gel at the time of publication of the drug in the Directory did not exist.

Instructions for use and dosing regimen

Intramuscularly. The drug is prescribed for 1 ml (100 mg of chondroitin sodium sulfate) every other day. With good tolerability, the dose is increased to 2 ml (200 mg of chondroitin sodium sulfate) starting with the 4th injection.

The course of treatment - 25-30 injections. If necessary, it is possible to conduct repeated courses of treatment after 6 months.

special instructions

With different forms of periodontitis, treatment should be continued for at least 3 months.

To achieve a stable clinical effect, at least 25 injections of the drug are necessary. The effect persists for several months after the end of treatment. To prevent exacerbations, repeated courses of treatment are used.

For allergic reactions or hemorrhages, treatment should be discontinued.

Influence on ability to drive vehicles, mechanisms

The drug Drastop does not affect the ability to drive vehicles and engage in potentially hazardous activities that require increased attention.

Drug Interactions
