Neisseria gonorrhoeae), Salmonella spp. (salmonella), Shigella spp. (shigella), Proteus spp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Enterobacter spp., Chlamydia trachomatis (chlamydia), Citrobacter freundii, Serratia spp., Yersinia spp.

 

It is active against gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus aureus (including strains producing penicillinase and methicillin-resistant strains), Staphylococcus epidermidis (Staphylococcus aureus), Staphylococcus saprophyticus, some strains of Streptococcus spp.

 

The drug is not very sensitive to Enterococcus spp. (enterococcus) and Acinetobacter spp.

 

Anaerobic bacteria are resistant to Normax.

Norfloxacin + excipients.

 

Pharmacokinetics

 

When ingested absorbed 30-40% of the dose, eating reduces the absorption rate. Norfloxacin is well distributed in the tissues of the genitourinary system. About 30% of the active substance is excreted unchanged in the urine.

Indications

 

For oral administration

 

Treatment of infectious-inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to the preparation:

  • diseases of the urinary tract;
  • infections of the pelvic organs (including adnexitis, prostatitis);
  • intestinal infections;
  • infections of the skin and soft tissues;
  • infections of the paranasal sinuses, pharynx, larynx, middle ear;
  • ophthalmic infections.

 

For topical application

 

Treatment of infectious-inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to the preparation:

  • conjunctivitis (including gonococcal);
  • keratitis;
  • keratoconjunctivitis;
  • corneal ulcer;
  • blepharitis;
  • blepharoconjunctivitis;
  • trachoma;
  • otitis externa;
  • acute and chronic otitis media;
  • otitis media;
  • infectious eustachyte.

 

Prevention of eye infections after removal of a foreign body from the cornea or conjunctiva, after damage by chemical or physical means, before and after surgical interventions.

 

Prevention of infectious otitis before and after surgery, with ear trauma, removal of foreign body from the external auditory canal, accompanied by damage to the ear tissues.

 

Forms of release

 

Eye and ear drops 0,3%.

 

The tablets covered with a cover of 400 mg.

 

Instructions for use and how to use them

 

Drops

 

Assign 1-2 drops to the affected eye or ear 4 times a day.If necessary, on the first day of application, the dose may be increased to 1-2 drops every 2 hours. After the disappearance of the symptoms of the disease, the drug should be continued for a further 48 hours.

 

In acute and chronic trachoma, 2 drops are prescribed in each eye 2-4 times a day for 1-2 months.

 

Before instillation in the ear drops Normax should be sanitized external auditory meatus. Drops should have body temperature. The patient should lie sideways or tilt his head to facilitate instillation. After digging in, you need to drop into the ear canal, pulling the earlobe down and back. With the simultaneous administration of Normax with antacids or preparations containing iron, magnesium, calcium, zinc, sucralfate, the absorption of norfloxacin is reduced by the formation of complexons with metal ions.

 

Pharmaceutical interaction

 

A solution of norfloxacin is incompatible with drugs having pH 3-4 that are physically or chemically unstable.
