The law on tougher advertising of dietary supplements in Russia

Periodically review the news on the changes in the laws adopted in Russia concerning the distribution and advertising of drugs and biologically active substances (Supplements). The market, of course, is huge and requires regulation - this is an indisputable fact, which so far is only realized by officials and deputies. Still, the lack of specialized professionals and consultants from officials, because they are trying to push the laws now either very raw in terms of training, or that do not change anything in the market.

Something similar happened to another law, which was supposed to lead the BAD market into a kind of civilized channel. Because now this market exists by itself without proper regulation. That only it is possible to advertise additives with the indication that their reception will help to cure serious diseases, even saw oncology (thank you, that though in an implicit form). This is nonsense.

Any biological additive does not contain medicinal substances and components (otherwise it would bemedicine), is aimed at strengthening the body's defenses, enhancing the adaptive functions of the human body, but it can not be treated independently. In extreme cases, it can be considered as a placebo, when a person subconsciously comes to the fact that these tablets or powders will help him and thanks to this organism includes a reserve, thus recovery comes. This is not a cure, but more shamanism and psychology.

Prohibiting supplements is also not an option. There is an urgent need to add to the treatment a component that can be obtained from natural products that a person consumes, but many tons of this product need to be eaten - then an additive to food comes to the rescue. But this is an auxiliary component in the main treatment.

So that's the law. He had to establish the responsibility of both advertisers and advertising distributors. And this is serious, since the double filter is extremely difficult to pass, or you need to immediately put in the cost of advertising for dietary supplements high tariffs, taking into account the inevitable fines, plus a field for corruption (which is considered an indication of the medicine and what is not). The law has already been withdrawn, although the deputies had the intention to adopt it quickly, as the meaning of the law is good, but the performance of the letter is bad. Plus double wording - one can leave one alone, and punish strangers. Plus, you can think about the lobbyists, who also do not sleep and defend the interests of their wards.

It looks all this croaking as a circus, when they send the agreed law to the adoption, then they withdraw it. Is it really impossible to work out an integrated approach or a law with the invitation of experts - let them in the subject, let them lobby the interests of their producers, but when there are many of them, it's very difficult to push through something individual, we already have to think about the industry and people, consumers of medicines and dietary supplements including.

I generally shield that bada should not be sold in pharmacies, but in stores. Because people really hope for them.

artemida, Maybe so. These are food supplements. At least in pharmacies, I would not mix them with medications, let the whole "palmistry" stand alone. After all, if there is a defect or lack of a food element, then their use is justified, and treat serious diseases of dietary supplements is an empty matter.

In vain you are so about dietary supplements! I, for example, have very rarely taken antibiotics in my life. Fingers on one hand will suffice. I consider it stupid at a young age to treat, for example, ARVI, antibiotics. I am treated with dietary supplements and it helps me very well. I think that if in each case "litter" your body, then in the future, no drugs can help.
So, personally I am for the dietary supplements and their distribution in pharmacies and in stores!

KaraAnd I did not write anything against the BAD in the article. For their business they are the right topic. Here it is the criticism of rulemaking when the laws riveted people far from the topic and for which dietary supplements are one Herbalife or pills from the Chinese in the subway crossing, of questionable quality.
