Zosterin - a polysaccharide of pectinic nature (polygalacturonan). Biologically active additive (BAA) is not a medicinal product. Refers to a group of organic natural sorbents. The raw material for obtaining is the sea grass Zostera marina, which grows exclusively in the pure water areas of the Russian Federation. The process of obtaining Zosterin Ultra is based only on physical methods.

Performs the function of immunomodulator. Effective as a preventive agent (for example, during the epidemic of influenza).

It does not break down in the gastrointestinal tract under the action of large intestine pectinase (contains sugar, apiosis); is a low-methoxylated, highly purified compound (determines the high activity of the drug); contains uronic acids and a peculiar relationship with sugar apiose (determines the high sorption capacity).

When dissolved in water, a liquid gel forms, which envelops the walls of the gastrointestinal tract, protects the mucous membranes from aggressive influences (incl.of hydrochloric acid). Improves the ability of the epithelium to recover. Improves the assimilation of other drugs.

In recommended dosages it does not cause electrolyte disturbances.
