Flucinar - synthetic glucocorticosteroid (GCS) for external use. Has anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, antiallergic, antiexudative action.
The mechanism of anti-inflammatory action is not fully understood. Fluocinolone acetonide (the active ingredient of the preparation Flucinar) inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes by inhibiting the activity of phospholipase A2 and reduces the release of arachidonic acid from the cell wall phospholipids. Prevents the occurrence of local allergic reactions in the skin. Anti-exudative effect due to vasoconstrictive effect.
