Omnik - instructions for use, reviews, analogs and forms of release (capsules 0.4 mg, tablets 0.4 mg Okas) drugs for the treatment of BPH and urinary tract disorders in men
In this article, you can read the instructions for using the drug Omnic. There are reviews of visitors to the site - consumers of this medication, as well as opinions of doctors specialists on the use of Omnik in their practice. A big request is to actively add their feedback on the drug: the medicine helped or did not help get rid of the disease, which were observed complications and side effects, possibly not declared by the manufacturer in the annotation. Omniki analogues in the presence of existing structural analogues. Use for the treatment of BPH and urinary tract disorders in men.
Omnic - selectively and competitively blocks postsynaptic alpha-1A-adrenergic receptors located in the smooth muscles of the prostate gland, neck of the bladder and prostatic part of the urethra, as well as alpha-1D-adrenergic receptors, mainly located in the body of the bladder. This leads to a decrease in the tone of the smooth muscles of the prostate gland, the neck of the bladder and the prostatic part of the urethra and improve detrusor function. This reduces the symptoms of obstruction and irritation associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia. Typically, the therapeutic effect develops 2 weeks after the start of the drug, although in a number of patients, the decrease in the severity of symptoms is noted after the first dose.
Omnik's ability to act on alpha-1A-adrenoreceptors is 20 times greater than its ability to interact with alpha-1B-adrenoreceptors, which are located in the smooth muscle of the vessels. Due to this high selectivity, the drug does not cause any clinically significant reduction in systemic BP in both patients with arterial hypertension and in patients with normal initial BP.
Composition
Tamsulosin hydrochloride + excipients.
Pharmacokinetics
After ingestion, Tamsulosin is rapidly and almost completely absorbed from the digestive tract. Bioavailability of the drug is about 100%. Absorption somewhat slows down after eating. The same level of absorption can be achieved if the patient takes the drug every time after a normal breakfast. Binding to plasma proteins - 99%. Tamsulosin is slowly biotransformed in the liver with the formation of less active metabolites. Most of the active substance is present in the blood in unchanged form. Tamsulosin and its metabolites are excreted mainly with urine, 9% of the dose is excreted unchanged.
Indications
- benign prostatic hyperplasia (treatment of urination disorders).
Forms of release

Before using the drug, it is necessary to verify the diagnosis and exclude the presence of other diseases that can cause similar symptoms.
Prior to and regularly during therapy, a digital rectal examination and, if necessary, the determination of a specific prostate antigen (PSA) should be performed.
Drug Interactions
With the simultaneous use of Omnik with cimetidine, a slight increase in the concentration of tamsulosin in the blood plasma was noted, and with Furosemide a decrease in the concentration was noted, but this does not require a change in the Omnik dose.
With simultaneous application with Omnik Diclofenac and Warfarin can slightly increase the rate of excretion of tamsulosin.
Simultaneous application of Omnik with other alpha1-adrenoblockers can lead to a pronounced decrease in blood pressure.
With the simultaneous administration of Omnik with atenolol, enalapril, nifedipine, no drug interaction was found.
Diazepam, propranolol, trichloromethiazide, chloromadinone, amitriptyline, diclofenac, glibenclamide, Simvastatin and warfarin do not change the free tamsulosin fraction in the plasma. In turn, tamsulosin also does not change the free fractions of diazepam, propranolol, trichloromethiazide and chloromadinone.
In studies, no interaction was found at the level of hepatic metabolism with amitriptyline, salbutamol, glibenclamide, and finasteride.
