Arthra - a stimulant for the regeneration of cartilaginous tissue.
Glucosamine and Chondroitin sodium sulfate take part in the biosynthesis of connective tissue, helping to prevent cartilage destruction processes, stimulating tissue regeneration. The introduction of exogenous Glucosamine enhances the production of cartilaginous matrix and provides non-specific protection, incl. from NSAIDs and SCS. The drug has a moderate anti-inflammatory effect.
Chondroitin sodium sulfate, whether absorbed in an intact form or as separate components, serves as an additional substrate for the formation of a healthy cartilage matrix. Stimulates the formation of proteoglycans and collagen type 2, and also protects the cartilage matrix from enzymatic cleavage (by suppressing the activity of hyaluronidase) and the damaging effect of free radicals; maintains the viscosity of the synovial fluid, stimulates mechanisms of cartilage repair and inhibits the activity of those enzymes (elastase, hyaluronidase) that break down the cartilage. In the treatment of osteoarthritis, it alleviates the symptoms of the disease and reduces the need for non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Hyaluronic acid is a polysaccharide group of acidic glycosaminoglycans, an important component of the synovial fluid, determining its viscoelastic properties. It forms on the entire inner surface of the covering layer, which protects articular cartilage and synovial membrane from mechanical damage, as well as free radicals and inflammation factors.
Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is an organic sulfur-containing compound. It is a key metabolite of dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO). Contains 34% of natural sulfur. MSM is a part of many endogenous proteins (including connective tissue proteins - collagen, elastin, keratin), hormones and other metabolically active compounds. MSM has an anti-inflammatory and analgesic effect.
Composition
Chondroitin sodium sulfate + Glucosamine hydrochloride + excipients.
Chondroitin sodium sulfate + excipients (Artra Chondroitin).
Chondroitin sodium sulfate + Glucosamine hydrochloride + Methylsulfonylmethane + Sodium hyaluronate (hyaluronic acid) + excipients (Artra MSM Forte).
Pharmacokinetics
Bioavailability of glucosamine when ingested - 25% (due to the effect of "first passage" through the liver). Bioavailability of chondroitin sulfate is 13%. Distributed in tissues: the highest concentrations of glucosamine are found in the liver, kidneys and articular cartilage. About 30% of the dose is persistently persistent in bone and muscle tissue. Glucosamine is excreted mainly with urine in unchanged form; in part - with feces.
Indications
- osteoarthritis of peripheral joints;
- osteocondritis of the spine.
