Carnitine - instructions for use, analogs, reviews and release forms (tablets 3.5 g, capsules 480 mg, 896 mg) of the drug for the treatment of stroke and weight loss in adults and pregnancy. L form of carnitine

In this article, you can read the instructions for using the drug Carnitine. Presented are reviews of visitors to the site - consumers of this medication, as well as opinions of doctors of specialists on the use of Carnitine in their practice. A big request is to actively add their feedback on the drug: the medicine helped or did not help get rid of the disease, which were observed complications and side effects, possibly not declared by the manufacturer in the annotation. Analogues of Carnitine in the presence of existing structural analogues. Use for the treatment of stroke (as part of complex therapy), correction of metabolic processes and weight loss in adults, as well as during pregnancy and lactation. L form of Carnitine.

Carnitine - means for correction of metabolic processes. It has anabolic, antihypoxic and antithyroid effect, activates fat metabolism, stimulates regeneration, increases appetite.

Carnitine - natural substance related Vitamins of group B. It is a cofactor in metabolic processes that maintain the activity of Coenzyme A. decreases basal metabolism slows the decay protein and carbohydrate molecules. It promotes the penetration through the membranes of the mitochondria and cleavage of long chain fatty acids with the formation of acetyl-CoA (required for pyruvate carboxylase activity in the process of gluconeogenesis, formation of ketone bodies, choline synthesis and its esters, oxidative phosphorylation and ATP formation).

Mobilizes fat (the presence of 3 labile methyl groups) from fat stores. Glucose competitively displacing comprises a fatty acid metabolic shunt, whose activity is not limited oxygen (in contrast to aerobic glycolysis), in connection with which the drug is effective in acute hypoxia (including the brain), and other critical conditions.

It has neurotrophic action, inhibits apoptosis, limits the affected area and restores the structure of the nervous tissue.Normalizes protein and fat metabolism, increased basal metabolism in thyrotoxicosis (being a partial antagonist of thyroxin). Restores the alkaline reserve of blood.

Reduces the formation of keto acids, increases the resistance of tissues to the effect of toxic decomposition products, activates anaerobic glycolysis, stimulates and accelerates reparative processes.

Increases the threshold of resistance to physical exertion, reduces the degree of lactic acidosis and restores working capacity after prolonged physical exertion. At the same time, it contributes to the economical consumption of glycogen and the increase in its reserves in the liver and muscles.

Does not affect the blood coagulation system.

Pharmacokinetics

After intravenous administration after 3 hours almost completely removed from the blood. Easily penetrates into the liver and myocardium, more slowly - into the muscles. It is excreted by the kidneys mainly in the form of acyl esters.

Indications

  • ischemic stroke (in acute, recovery periods);
  • transient impairment of cerebral circulation;
  • encephalopathy;
  • traumatic and toxic lesions of the brain;
  • obesity.

Primary and secondary deficiency of carnitine.

As a cardioprotector in the treatment of cytostatics, especially anthracycline.

Forms of release

Capsules 480 mg, 896 mg.

Tablets for the preparation of fizzy drink 3.5g.

Fluid for oral administration 25 ml, 50 ml, 100 ml (liquid carnitine).

Instructions for use and dosing regimen

The liquid is injected intravenously, drip slowly (no more than 60 drops / min). Before the administration of 5-10 ml of a 10% solution (0.5-1 g) is diluted in 200 ml of 0.9% sodium chloride solution.

In acute disorders of cerebral circulation - 1 g1 times a day for the first 3 days, then for 0.5 gv day for 7 days. After 10-12 days, repeated courses of 0.5 g1 once a day for 3-5 days are recommended.

In subacute and recovery periods of stroke, with discirculatory encephalopathy, toxic and traumatic brain lesions - 0.5-1 g once a day for 3-5 days. If necessary, after 12-14 days, appoint a second course.

Capsules. 1 capsule 2 times a day.

Side effect

  • allergic reactions
  • muscle weakness in patients with uremia.

Contraindications

  • hypersensitivity to carnitine.

Application in pregnancy and lactation

Special studies on safety during pregnancy and lactation were not carried out. If appropriate, in this category of patients, the expected benefit of therapy for the mother and the potential risk to the fetus or infant should be compared.

special instructions

Possible use in anorexia, hypotrophy, growth retardation in children.

Drug Interactions

Glucocorticosteroids contribute to the accumulation of carnitine in tissues (except for the liver).

Other anabolics increase the effect of carnitine.

Analogues of the drug Carnitine

In the response about actovegin wrote about their problems, but carnitine in capsules did not help, though the medicine was appointed not by a doctor, but by a passer-by quack. BAA normal - to give money to the purse charlatan, that's what this carnitine.
