Pharmacokinetics

 

Penetrates into the anterior chamber of the eye. The maximum concentration in the cornea and in the conjunctiva is reached 30 minutes after instillation.

 

Indications

  • prevention of myosis, inflammatory processes and cystoid macular edema following operations related to cataract removal and lens implantation;
  • inflammation of non-infectious nature involving the anterior parts of the eye (chronic non-infectious conjunctivitis and others);
  • post-traumatic inflammation with penetrating and non-penetrating wounds of the eyeball (as an addition to local anti-infective therapy);
  • pain syndrome in the application of an excimer laser.

Eye drops 5 ml.

 

Instructions for use and dosing regimen

 

In the conjunctival sac. Before the operation - 1 drop 5 times for 3 hours, after the operation - 1 drop 3 times immediately after the operation, then - 1 drop 3-5 times a day during the time necessary for treatment; other indications - 1 drop 4-5 times a day.

 

Side effect

  • transient burning sensation (from mild to moderate);
  • temporary loss of vision clearness immediately after instillation;
  • allergic reactions (itching, redness of the conjunctiva, photosensitivity).

 

Contraindications

 

Hypersensitivity (including thimerosal).

 

With caution

  • aspirin asthma;
  • epithelial herpetic keratitis (including in the anamnesis);
  • diseases that cause blood clotting disorders (including hemophilia, prolonged bleeding time, a tendency to bleed);
  • pregnancy, lactation;
  • children and the elderly.

 

Application in pregnancy and lactation

Eye drops are not for injection. They can be administered subconjunctivally. They should be injected directly into the anterior chamber of the eye.

 

The drug should not be used while wearing soft contact lenses. Before using drops, the lenses should be removed and inserted again not earlier than 15 minutes after instillation.
