Moviprep - instructions for use, reviews, analogs and forms of release (powder for the preparation of a solution in sachets) a laxative drug for preparation for diagnosis (colonoscopy) in adults, children and during pregnancy. Composition

In this article, you can read the instructions for using the drug Moviprep. There are reviews of visitors to the site - consumers of this medication, as well as opinions of doctors specialists on the use of Moviprep in their practice. A big request is to actively add their feedback on the drug: the medicine helped or did not help get rid of the disease, which were observed complications and side effects, possibly not declared by the manufacturer in the annotation. Analogues of Moviprep in the presence of existing structural analogues.Use to prepare for diagnosis (colonoscopy) and surgery, bowel cleansing in adults, children, as well as during pregnancy and lactation. Composition of the preparation.

Moviprep - laxative drug. Oral administration of a solution of electrolytes based on macrogol, causes mild diarrhea, which results in rapid emptying of the contents of the colon.

The active substances of the drug Moviprep - Macrogol 3350, sodium sulfate and Ascorbic acid have an osmotic effect that causes a laxative effect.

Macrogol 3350 increases the volume of feces, which leads to an increase in intestinal peristalsis.

Electrolytes that are part of the drug, as well as additional fluid intake prevent the violation of the water-electrolyte balance.

Composition

Macrogol 3350 + Sodium sulfate + Sodium chloride + Potassium chloride + auxiliary substances (sachet A).

Ascorbic acid + Ascorbate sodium + auxiliary substances (sachet B).

Pharmacokinetics

Macrogol 3350 does not change while being in the intestine. It is practically not absorbed from the digestive tract. The absorbed amount of macrogol 3350 is excreted through the kidneys.

Ascorbic acid is absorbed mainly in the small intestine by active sodium-dependent saturable transport. There is an inverse relationship between the dose received and the absorbed dose percentage. When administered orally at a dose of 30 mg to 180 mg, about 70-85% of the dose is absorbed. At the subsequent oral intake of ascorbic acid in a volume of up to 12 g absorbs only 2 g.

After oral intake of large doses of ascorbic acid and in case of exceeding its concentration in plasma of 14 mg / l, absorbed ascorbic acid is excreted mostly unchanged in kidneys.

Indications

  • preparation for diagnostic studies (endoscopic (colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy and others), radiology and other intestinal research) and surgical interventions requiring emptying or cleansing of the intestine.

Forms of release

Powder for solution for oral administration in bags or sachets A and B.

Instructions for use and how to use them

Inside.

To prepare one liter of the drug solution, the contents of one sachet A and one sachet B must be dissolved in a small amount of water, then bring the volume of the solution to one liter with water.To prepare the second liter of the drug solution, the contents of the remaining second sachet A and the second sachet B must be dissolved in a small amount of water, then bring the volume of the solution to one liter with water.

The total dose is 2 liters of solution of the drug Moviprep.

The solution can be taken once (2 l in the evening on the eve or 2 l in the morning on the day of the procedure) or divide into two doses (1 L overnight and 1 L on the morning of the procedure). Before surgery, take once 2 l solution of the drug the night before. The prepared solution should be drunk within 1-2 hours.

During the preparation course it is strongly recommended to use 1 liter of another liquid (water, broth, fruit juice without pulp, soft drinks, tea, coffee without milk).

With separate (1 liter the night before and 1 liter in the morning) and evening single dose regimen, the drug and other liquids should be stopped at least 1 hour before the procedure begins. With a morning single dose regimen, the drug should be stopped at least 2 hours before taking the other liquids - at least 1 hour before the procedure begins.Patients should consider the appropriate time interval for a trip to the clinic for the procedure.

Do not eat solid foods from the start of taking the drug Moviprep and until the end of the clinical procedure.

If any of the above undesirable effects are aggravated, or the patient has noticed any other undesirable effects, he should inform the doctor about it.

Contraindications

  • hypersensitivity to any of the components of the drug;
  • violation of gastric emptying (gastroparesis);
  • intestinal obstruction;
  • perforation or risk of perforation of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • phenylketonuria (due to the content of aspartame);
  • deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (due to the content of ascorbic acid);

In the presence of one of the listed diseases before taking the drug Moviprep the patient should always consult with a doctor.

Application in pregnancy and lactation

The experience of using the drug Moviprep during pregnancy and during breastfeeding is limited. Moviprap should be used only if the intended benefit to the mother exceeds the potential risk to the fetus or child (medical consultation is necessary).

Use in children

Contraindicated in children and adolescents under the age of 18 years.

Application in elderly patients

For elderly patients, the drug should be administered under medical supervision.

special instructions

Older patients, weakened or emaciated patients with various concomitant diseases, patients prone to aspiration or regurgitation, with impaired consciousness, especially if the drug is injected through a nasogastric tube, the drug should be administered under medical supervision.

The prepared solution of the drug Moviprep does not replace regular fluid intake, so it is necessary to maintain a sufficient level of fluid in the body.

In exhausted weakened patients, patients with various concomitant diseases, with clinically significant impairment of kidney function,arrhythmia and the risk of electrolyte imbalance, the need to determine the level of electrolytes at the baseline and after treatment, assess the function of the kidney and perform an ECG study should be considered.

In rare cases, a serious arrhythmia was observed, including atrial fibrillation associated with the use of ionic osmotic laxatives for bowel preparation. These phenomena occur mainly in patients with existing cardiac risk factors and a violation of the electrolyte balance.

If patients develop any symptoms that indicate arrhythmia or water / electrolyte balance shifts (for example, swelling, shortness of breath, fatigue, heart failure), you should determine the level of electrolytes in the blood plasma, perform an ECG and conduct adequate treatment for all revealed abnormalities.

If the patient has symptoms such as severe flatulence, bloating, abdominal pain, or any other reactions that make it difficult to continue taking the drug, slow or temporarily stop taking the medication and consult a doctor.In the treatment of patients who follow a diet with a controlled sodium content, it should be taken into account that the preparation contains 56.2 mmol of sodium absorbed per 1 liter of solution.

When treating patients with impaired renal function or patients who follow a diet with a controlled potassium content, it should be taken into account that the preparation contains 14.2 mmol of potassium per 1 liter of solution.

To reduce excess weight or weight loss is not used.

Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms

During the course of preparation for medical manipulations with the drug Moviprep it is recommended to refrain from driving and other mechanisms.

Drug Interactions

Diarrhea or diarrhea caused by the use of the drug Moviprep, can lead to a violation of absorption of other concurrently taken drugs. Drugs taken orally within one hour prior to the onset of laxative action of the drug (eg, oral contraceptives) can be removed from the digestive tract without being absorbed.
