Active iodine, which is part of the preparation, inactivates bacterial wall proteins and enzyme proteins of bacteria, thus having a bactericidal effect.

Stellanin protects the wound surface from infections, suppresses the course of the infectious process and promotes healing.

The drug has a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity.

Along with antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects, ointment has a high osmotic potential, which is especially important in the treatment of purulent wounds, t. facilitates the evacuation of a wound defect purulent discharge.

To Stellanin, Staphylococcus aureus (Staphylococcus), Clostridium dificille, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae (Klebsiella), Streptococcus viridans (Streptococcus), Streptococcus haemolyticus, Proteus mirabilis (Proteus), Escherichia coli (E. coli), Neisseria spp .; fungi Candida albicans (candida) and some other pathogens.

The duration and frequency of application depends on the severity of the disease and the localization of the process. The daily dose should not exceed 10 g. It is possible to use occlusive dressings and plaster.

In the treatment of granulating burns, wounds and trophic ulcers with mild exudation, the preparation is applied uniformly with a thickness of 1-1.5 mm so that the entire affected area is covered with ointment and a sterile gauze bandage is applied. Change dressings are carried out 1 time in 1-2 days in the treatment of burns and 1-2 times a day in the treatment of wounds and trophic ulcers. With the open method of treating burns, the drug is applied 1-2 times a day. The duration of treatment is determined by the dynamics of epithelialization of wounds.

For minor skin lesions (abrasions, cuts, scratches, cracks, scratching), the drug is applied a thin layer on the affected surface 2 times a day.
