Tizalud - instructions for use, reviews, analogs and formulations (2 mg and 4 mg tablets) of the drug for the treatment of spinal muscle spasms in osteochondrosis and after a stroke in adults, children and during pregnancy. Composition of muscle relaxant

In this article, you can read the instructions for using the drug Tizalud. Presented are reviews of visitors to the site - consumers of this medication, as well as opinions of doctors of specialists on the use of Tizalud in their practice. A big request is to actively add their feedback on the drug: the medicine helped or did not help get rid of the disease, which were observed complications and side effects, possibly not declared by the manufacturer in the annotation. Analogues of Tizalud with available structural analogues.Use to treat spasms in the muscles of the spine with osteochondrosis and after a stroke, sclerosis in adults, children, as well as during pregnancy and lactation. Composition of the preparation.

Tizalud - Muscle relaxant of central action. Reduces the increased tone of skeletal muscles, relieves their spasm; reduces the resistance of muscles with passive movements, increases the force of arbitrary contractions. The muscle-relaxing effect of tizanidine is probably due to the inhibition of spinal polysynaptic reflexes, which is associated with a decrease in the release of excitatory amino acids from presynaptic terminals of spinal interneurons, as well as stimulation of alpha2-adrenergic receptors. Tizanidine does not affect the transmission of excitation in the neuromuscular synapses.

Composition

Tizanidine hydrochloride + excipients.

Indications

  • the spastic condition of skeletal muscles caused by neurological diseases (multiple sclerosis, chronic myelopathy, stroke, degenerative diseases of the spinal cord);
  • a painful spasm of skeletal muscles due to spinal cord injury (cervical and lumbar syndrome) or arising after surgery (for herniation of the intervertebral disc or osteoarthritisthighs).

Forms of release

Tablets 2 mg and 4 mg.

Instructions for use and dosing regimen

To stop the painful spasm of skeletal muscles, apply 2-4 mg 3 times a day; in severe cases it is recommended to take 2-4 mg for the night.

With spasmodic conditions of muscles caused by neurological diseases, the initial dose is 6 mg per day in 3 divided doses. The dose is gradually increased by 2-4 mg per day every 3-7 days. The optimal therapeutic effect is usually achieved at a dose of 12-24 mg per day, divided into 3-4 doses. Do not exceed the dose of 36 mg per day.

Side effect

  • drowsiness;
  • insomnia;
  • feeling tired;
  • dizziness;
  • dry mouth;
  • nausea;
  • some decrease in blood pressure;
  • bradycardia;
  • muscle weakness;
  • increased activity of transaminases in serum.

Contraindications

  • hypersensitivity to tizanidine;
  • pregnancy;
  • children under 18 years.

Application in pregnancy and lactation

Since controlled trials of Tizaluda in pregnant women have not been performed, it should not be used during pregnancy.

For the duration of treatment with tizanidine, breastfeeding should be discontinued.there is no data on its penetration into breast milk.

Use in children

Contraindicated in children and adolescents under the age of 18 years (not enough clinical data to use the drug in this age group of patients).

special instructions

Use with caution in patients with impaired liver and kidney function.

Hypotension may occur with the use of tizanidine, as well as as a result of interaction with inhibitors of the isoenzyme CYP1A2 and / or antihypertensive drugs. A pronounced decrease in blood pressure can lead to loss of consciousness and collapse.

When discontinuing tizanidine therapy, in order to reduce the risk of a ricochet increase in blood pressure and tachycardia, the dose should be slowly reduced until the drug is completely discontinued, especially in patients receiving high doses of Tizalud for a long time.

Impact on the ability to drive vehicles and manage mechanisms

At the beginning of treatment, when drowsiness occurs, activities that require high concentration of attention, rapid psychomotor reactions should be avoided.

Drug Interactions

With simultaneous use with antihypertensive agents, (incl.with diuretics), it is possible to develop severe arterial hypotension and bradycardia.

The simultaneous use of tizanidine with fluvoxamine or ciprofloxacin, which are inhibitors of the isoenzyme CYP1A2, is contraindicated.

When tizanidine is used with fluvoxamine or ciprofloxacin, a 33-fold and 10-fold increase in the aUC of tizanidine is observed, respectively. The result of a combined application may be a clinically significant and prolonged decrease in blood pressure, accompanied by drowsiness, dizziness, decreased speed of psychomotor reactions (in some cases, up to collapse and loss of consciousness).

It is not recommended to prescribe Tizalud together with other inhibitors of the isoenzyme CYP1A2 - antiarrhythmic drugs (amiodarone, mexiletine, propafenone), cimetidine, certain fluoroquinolones (enoxacin, pefloxacin, norfloxacin), rofecoxib, oral contraceptives, ticlopidine.

With the simultaneous use of ethanol (alcohol), drugs with sedative effect, the sedative effect is enhanced.

Systemic bioavailability of tizanidine in men smokers (more than 10 cigarettes a day) is reduced by approximately 30%.Long-term therapy with tizanidine in men who smoke can require higher doses than the average therapeutic.

Sedative, hypnotic drugs (benzodiazepines, baclofen) and other drugs, such as antihistamines, can also enhance the sedative effect of tizanidine.
